In the course of 2011-2012 a new, state-of-the-art signal box from Infrabel was built near the Kortrijk station in Belgium. This signal box was realized along the Doornikselaan, on the grounds of the former mail sorting center Kortrijk X. In this new signal box, B.3 Kortrijk, the control of train traffic and the operation of switches and signals is fully computer-controlled. Among other things, this signal box takes over the signal boxes located in Kortrijk: B.11 (Kortrijk-Vorming), B.21 (Kortrijk station), S.I and S.II (Werkplaats Kortrijk).
