At the end of 1995, some Jemellois launched the idea of creating a site evoking the glorious era of Jemelle in Belgium, since the development, development and prosperity of the village were directly linked to the railway. Indeed, the Jemelle station located halfway between Brussels and Luxembourg, was ideally located to place a workshop for the maintenance and upkeep of railway equipment and to constitute an optimal supply point for water and coal. The population quadrupled from 1850 to 1880. The Rail and Stone Center was created in the premises of the former town hall of Jemelle on September 01, 2000.
