The Express Passenger Train (or XPT) is an Australian long-distance passenger train operated by NSW TrainLink. It connects Sydney (in New South Wales) with Brisbane (in Queensland) and Melbourne (in Victoria). The XPT reaches a top speed of 160 kph. It entered service in 1982 and is based on the design of the High Speed Train by British Rail.
