Melbourne, the capital of the Australian state Victoria, has the largest operational urban tram network in the world: 250 kilometres of double track with 1763 tram stops. The City Circle, or Melbourne tram route 35, is a free tram mainly aimed at tourists in the city centre. It operates in both clockwise and anti-clockwise direction.
